London Couples
Photography
made for the two of you.
Private photoshoots across central London for couples, engagements, proposals, honeymoons, and anniversaries — by an accredited photographer with a quiet eye for connection.
Association of Photographers
Real moments.
Not stiff poses.
Come home with photos that capture how it actually felt — the laughter, the glances, the quiet in-between.
I’m Jamie Melville, an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) and accredited member of the Association of Photographers. Whether you’re a new couple, freshly engaged, planning a surprise proposal, or marking a London anniversary or honeymoon — I’ll help you walk away with photos that feel completely true to the two of you.
Sessions are relaxed and unhurried. We’ll explore together — somewhere meaningful to you, or one of London’s most romantic backdrops. I’ll offer gentle direction where it helps, but the real magic happens when you’re just enjoying each other’s company. That’s what I’m there to catch.
The goal is simple: photos that feel like the two of you — made in an hour you’ll genuinely enjoy.
Every love story, different light.

London’s most romantic backdrops.
Every session is shaped around you — but these are the locations I return to most often with couples. Each one offers something different depending on the mood, the time of day, and what you’re after.
Notting Hill
Pastel terraces, flower-draped mews, and Portobello Road at its quietest. Notting Hill is my most-requested location for couple shoots — and deservedly so.
St James’s Park
Royal parkland, lakeside paths, and a view of Buckingham Palace from across the water. Calm, beautiful, and one of London’s best proposal spots.
Tower Bridge
London’s most dramatic skyline backdrop. I know the quieter riverside angles that give you the Bridge without the crowds — at golden hour it’s genuinely cinematic.
South Bank & Westminster
Big Ben, the Thames, the bridges — London at its most recognisable. Perfect if you want the iconic skyline shots alongside something more intimate and candid.
Kensington Gardens
The Italian Garden, the Long Water, and tree-lined avenues that feel miles from the city. Beautiful in any season — extraordinary in autumn and spring.
Greenwich
A hilltop view across the whole city, beautiful parkland, and almost none of the crowds you’d find in central London. Worth the extra ten minutes on the Tube.
Somewhere else in mind? Richmond Park, Kew Gardens, Hampstead Heath — if it’s meaningful to you, I’ll shoot it.

What people say about the experience.
Without a doubt, Jamie is a master of his craft. He made us feel so relaxed and comfortable in front of a camera, and gave us absolutely gorgeous photos in areas of London we would not have otherwise discovered.Sarah Lincoln, USA
Jamie is an amazing photographer and knows how to make you feel comfortable even if you don’t have any experience photoshooting. The full experience was perfect — it felt like walking around the streets with a friend.Romain Lyon, France
Jamie was great & easy to work with! He kept the vibe relaxed & fun, which helped me relax and capture the joyful London photos I was looking for. He knew the perfect locations to make it happen plus additional spots I’d never seen before.Madison Auburn Hills, USA

A patient eye
for genuine connection.
My background is in documentary photography — long-form projects about people, places, and the relationships between them. That training gives me something most photographers don’t have: the ability to wait for the real moment rather than manufacture one.
When I’m working with a couple, I’m looking for the glance, the laugh, the quiet in-between. The poses are there when you need them, but the images worth keeping are almost always the ones where you’ve forgotten I’m there.
People who feel seen rather than directed — that’s what I’m always after.

Selected Documentary Work
Everything you need to know, before booking.
I offer two session lengths: a standard one-hour session and an extended one-and-a-half-hour session. The standard session covers two central London locations with plenty of time to settle in and enjoy it. The extended session suits couples who want more variety, a third location, or a more relaxed pace — it’s also the one I’d recommend for proposals where we need a little more time either side of the moment.
Absolutely — proposal shoots are one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. We’ll coordinate everything in advance: the location, the timing, where I’ll be positioned, and how we’ll handle the moments that follow. I work with you to make the whole thing feel completely natural for your partner, right through to the celebratory portraits after the yes.
Very. I’ll position myself at a distance using a longer lens, blending into the surroundings so there’s nothing to give the moment away. We’ll agree a signal beforehand so I know exactly when it’s happening, and I’ll have the angle locked in well in advance. I’ve done this enough times to know how to be invisible when it matters most.
My most-requested locations for couples are Notting Hill, St James’s Park, Tower Bridge at golden hour, South Bank, Kensington Gardens, and Greenwich. Each offers something different in terms of mood and light. I’m always happy to advise on the best fit based on the time of day, the season, and what you’re after — or we can build the session around somewhere that’s meaningful to you specifically.
The standard one-hour session includes 16 fully edited, high-resolution images. The extended one-and-a-half-hour session includes 20. All images are delivered within four days via a private online gallery, print-ready and yours to keep and share however you like.
Choose your package above and book directly via the secure booking page, or use the contact form below if you have a specific request or question first. Payment secures your date, and I’ll be in touch shortly after to confirm the details and start planning. I’d recommend booking ahead if you’re visiting during summer or around Christmas — those dates fill quickly.
Whatever makes you feel comfortable and like yourselves — that always photographs best. For couples, coordinating tones tends to work better than matching outfits. I’m happy to send over a short styling guide on request, with suggestions tailored to your chosen locations and time of year. You can also find guidance on my blog.
Don’t worry about it — I’m used to working in all conditions, and overcast skies produce beautifully even light for portraits. If we get heavy rain I’ll work with you to adjust the plan on the day or reschedule. All the details are covered in your booking confirmation, and I’ll always be in touch ahead of the session if the forecast looks challenging.
Not at all — it’s probably the thing I hear most, and it’s never been a problem. The session is designed to feel like a relaxed wander around London, not a photoshoot. I’ll keep things moving, keep the conversation going, and offer direction when it helps — but the best images almost always come from the moments in between, when you’ve forgotten I’m there. Trust the process and enjoy the walk. The photos will follow.
Still have a question? I’m happy to help.
