Enquire About Availability →A documentary photographer works around the world, not over it.
Patience, observation, working unnoticed - the discipline of documentary photography transfers directly to set. I capture real moments as they happen, not reconstructed after the fact.
The best unit still is the one nobody knew was being taken.
I work quietly and quickly, always secondary to the production. I don&t disrupt takes or request setups. I’m trained to be in the right position before the moment arrives, and invisible until it does.
Available, credentialled, and building — honestly.
I’m early in my unit stills career. What I bring is an ARPS-level eye, documentary instinct, and genuine availability for the short film, indie feature, and music video productions that established photographers are too committed to take.

// About
Accredited.
Documentary-trained.
Available.
I’m Jamie Melville — an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) and accredited member of the Association of Photographers. My background is in documentary photography: long-form, location-based, working around real subjects in real environments without disrupting what’s happening. That discipline transfers directly to set.
I understand how productions run, how to stay out of the way, and how to be in exactly the right position before the moment arrives. I’m building my unit stills credits and I’m genuinely available for short films, independent features, documentaries, and music video productions that need a serious photographer on set.
