London Vacation
Photography
worth bringing home.
Private photoshoots across central London for travellers, couples, and families — led by an accredited photographer who knows exactly where the light falls right.
Association of Photographers
A photographer
who actually
knows London.
Whether you're here for a weekend or a fortnight, come home with images that capture how it really felt to be here — not just the postcard shot.
I'm Jamie Melville, an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) and accredited member of the Association of Photographers. I've spent years learning exactly where and when London's light falls right, and I genuinely love working with travellers and visitors to this city.
Every session is built around you — your itinerary, the people you're with, the places that mattered. We'll move between iconic landmarks and quieter corners only locals know, and along the way I'll share stories about London you won't find in any guidebook.
The goal is simple: for you to feel like I'm your London friend who just happens to be really great with a camera.
Every trip, a different frame.

London’s most photographic corners.
Every session is built around you — but here’s where we most often shoot. From the city’s most iconic frames to the quieter corners only locals know.
Westminster
London’s most photographed frame. Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the Thames at your back — the postcard shot, timed so the light works with you, not against.
Tower Bridge
The bridge everyone knows, from angles nobody does. A short walk along the Thames here unlocks some of London’s most cinematic waterside views.
Notting Hill
Pastel terraces, Portobello Road, and quiet mews tucked between the crowds. Notting Hill photographs like nowhere else in London — especially in soft morning light.
Covent Garden
Street performers, wrought-iron arcades, the old apple market. Covent Garden is theatrical by nature — perfect for lively, candid images with atmosphere built in.
St James’s Park
Royal parkland a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace. Lakeside paths and tree-framed views of the city’s most famous buildings — without the crowds that come with them.
Greenwich
Maritime heritage, the Royal Observatory, and London’s best hilltop view. A little off the usual tourist track — and all the better for it.
Somewhere else on your list? Shoreditch, South Bank, Kensington, Camden — if it’s in London, I can shoot it.

Every session is different — but the warmth and care stay the same. A few words from recent clients.
Jamie is an amazing photographer and knows how to make you feel comfortable even if you do not have any experience in photoshooting! He understood my needs from the beginning and tailored the shoot around that. Jamie is very sociable and the full experience was perfect, it felt like walking around the streets with a friend! I am very grateful to have chosen Jamie and I recommend him to everyone!
Without a doubt, Jamie is a master of his craft. Jamie greeted us with a smile and genuinely wanted to get to know us, which quickly translated into the images captured. We cannot express our gratitude enough to Jamie for making us feel so relaxed and comfortable in front of a camera, and for giving us absolutely gorgeous photos in areas of London that we would not have otherwise discovered without his experience and expertise.Sarah · Lincoln, USA
Jamie was great with our family visiting from the US. We were a group of 7 which can be challenging, but Jamie was calm, offered a variety of subgroups, poses, and sites for our photo shoot. He made everyone comfortable. Great way to capture memories for our entire group.Emily · Dubuque, USA
Jamie was great & easy to work with! So personable. I had ideas of what I wanted to capture & Jamie knew the perfect locations to make it happen plus additional spots I’d never seen before! He kept the vibe relaxed & fun, which helped me relax and capture the joyful London photos I was looking for!Madison · Auburn Hills, USA
As a solo traveler this was such a fun and unique experience 10/10. Jamie is very professional, talented and had a wealth of information about the area. I would definitely try this again when I return to London.Autumn · California, USA
Documentary eye,
traveller’s ease.
Before I was a travel photographer, I was — and still am — a documentary storyteller. My personal work takes me from New Orleans to Scotland to Ukraine, making long-form photographic essays about people, places, and the stories they carry.
That same eye is what I bring to every travel session. Patient, attentive, always looking for the real moment — the glance, the laugh, the quiet in-between. You’ll go home with the iconic London shots, absolutely. But also with the ones you didn’t know you needed.
Travel photography, made with the same care I give to every story I tell.

Selected Documentary Work
Everything you need to know, before booking.
Sessions typically run for one hour, which gives us enough time to work across two locations in close proximity. If you’d like more variety or you’re a larger group, extended sessions are available on request. I keep the pace relaxed and enjoyable throughout — the aim is to capture real moments, not rushed poses.
I work across all of central London’s most photographed areas, including Westminster, Tower Bridge, Covent Garden, Notting Hill, St James’s Park, Greenwich, and the City. Every session is tailored to your wishlist and travel itinerary, and I’m always happy to advise on the best locations based on where you’re staying, how much time you have, and the style of images you’re after.
You’ll receive a fully edited private online gallery within four days of your session. Standard one-hour sessions include sixteen high-resolution edited images — all print-ready and yours to keep.
Choose your package and book directly via the booking page above, or get in touch via the contact form if you have a specific request. Payment secures your date and a confirmation email with meeting details will follow shortly after. I’d recommend booking in advance if you’re visiting during the summer or around Christmas — those dates fill up quickly.
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and like yourselves — that always photographs best. For couples and families, coordinating tones tends to work better than matching outfits. I’m happy to send over a short styling guide on request, with suggestions tailored to your chosen locations and the time of year. You can also check out my guide on my blog.
Honestly, don’t worry too much about it — I’m very used to working in all conditions, and overcast skies actually produce beautifully even light for portraits. If we do get heavy rain, I’ll work with you to either adjust the plan on the day or reschedule. All the details are covered in your booking confirmation.
Absolutely — and I love it. Proposal shoots are one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I’ll coordinate quietly with you in advance, position myself discreetly to catch the moment from the right angle, then transition naturally into celebratory portraits afterwards. Many couples choose the Couple session for this exact reason.
Absolutely. A large proportion of my clients are international visitors, and I’m experienced at directing people through demonstration and body language when language is a barrier. All booking correspondence is in English, but during the shoot itself I keep communication clear, relaxed, and easy to follow for everyone.
